Marc Anthony Vivir Mi Vida

International Latin pop superstar, Marc Anthony knows a thing or two about how to write and perform hit music. From his early days with the Latin supergroup Menudo, and his brief stint with the Latin Rascals, to his current worldwide pop icon status, Anthony’s hits span the better part of two decades. He is widely known and loved for his influential and sultry salsa music, not just by Calgarians, but by people from all over the world.

The album, Rebel, began Marc Anthony influential career in the salsa genre, which continued throughout the 1990s with what is consider his debut album Otra Nota. Otra Nota produced three singles Hasta Que Te Conocí, Palabras del Alma, and Si Tú No Te Fueras. Followed by two more award-winning albums Todo a Su Tiempo and Contra la Corriente.

But it wasn’t until Anthony’s album Marc Anthony was released that he garnered internationl fame and accolades for his voice, as well as bringing the salsa genre to the masses. It was his first major label English language album and debuted at number-eight on the Canadian Album Charts. Marc Anthony included the mega-hit about a desperate man trying to win the affection from a women titled I Need to Know. The single for I Need to Know also came bundled with a Spanish version that hit number-one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks and stayed there for 5 consecutive weeks.

Marc Anthony has released a series of successful Latin pop albums. From the Grammy nominated salsa album, Libre to Mended a few years later. Both of which charted on the Canadian Albums Chart. Then, after a few years off (undoubtedly to celebrate his newly minted union with star Jennifer Lopez and his newly found international stardom), Anthony released the Grammy Award Winning Amar Sin Mentiras, which featured the number-one track ¿Ahora Quién? (Now Who?).

For the latter half of the last decade, Anthony was relatively quiet on the album front. He worked on various re-recordings of old hits, lent his voice to a few movie soundtracks; absolved a few relationships (including the much publicized Lopez love affair); remaining mostly incognito, that is until the first single (Vivir Mi Vida) was finally released from his first original salsa album in over a decade titled 3.0, much to the happiness of his fans. 3.0 finds Anthony doing what he loves most: making great music and keeping the salsa genre alive.
