Donald Sterling Banned For Life By NBA For Racist Comments

The National Basketball Association doesn’t mess around.

Donald Sterling, the billionaire owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, has been suspended for life and fined $2.5 million after he was recorded making racist comments.

ABC News reports that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement at a new conference on Tuesday afternoon in New York.

The punishment comes days after TMZ and Deadspin posted audio recordings of the business magnate reprimanding his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, for posting Instagram pictures with black basketball player Magic Johnson.

“I’m just saying, in your lousy [expletive] Instagrams, you don’t have yourself with, walking with black people,” a male voice says on the tapes. “Don’t put [Magic] on Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.”
